Abraham Darb

Abraham Darb

English Rose
1985

Abraham Darby has large blooms that are 4 to 5 inches across and have a wonderful, strong fruity scent. The blooms are peachy-pink with yellow undertones. They start out cupped, with a deep peach color in the center which fades quite a bit after a few days in the Colorado sun. The bloom in the picture above is probably a little past its prime. I'll try and add a picture of a lovely cupped bloom this coming year.

The plant habit is tall, with long arching canes covered with very shiny leaves. I've seen this one used very nicely as a climber. It is one of my more cane hardy english roses, although not as hardy as Windrush or Gertrude Jekyll.
